HONOLULU -- Visitors to Maui have a new way to get around the island.

Maui's public transit system is a new option for clients who may not be inclined to rent a car but want to see the island.

Serving west, central and south Maui, the air-conditioned buses are available from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.

They make several stops along the route, which runs between Kapalua and Maalaea Harbor.

The stops include Napili, Kahana, Honokowai and the popular tourist destinations of Kaanapali, Lahaina Center and Lahaina Town.

In south Maui, the buses stop in Wailea and Kihei on the way to Maalaea Harbor.
