Puebla debuts bus service

PUEBLA, Mexico -- Move over, New York, London and Mexico City. This colonial city launched its own double-decker tour bus service last month.

Puebla, a Unesco World Heritage Site, joins Mexico City as the only Mexican cities to offer this type of service.

The red, roofless, double-decker Turibus makes several stops, giving passengers the opportunity to get on and off at museums, cathedrals and other attractions. All passengers receive complimentary earphones to listen to prerecorded messages about Puebla in a choice of five languages.

A day pass costs about $8. The Turibus departs daily from the city's convention center at half-hour intervals from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more details, call Turibus at (011) 52-55 5566-0919.
