ZIHUATANEJO, Mexico -- Two villas and three seaside suites have been added to the rental pool at Puerto Mio, the 30-acre luxury resort near Zihuatanejo. Another 10 seaside suites are planned.

Villa Encantada, a 5,000-square-foot villa situated on a hilltop, features an open-air, palapa-covered living and dining area, an infinity pool and four master bedrooms with terraces.

The new villa Encantada features an infinity pool.
The living area, furnished with built-in white banquettes, a mahogany coffee table and sea grass armchairs, looks out over the pool and the resort's private beach.

The air-conditioned bedrooms feature four-poster beds, a television and a minibar.

Some of the bedrooms feature sunken bathtubs and/or showers with doors that open onto private terraces.

The villa also has a kitchen, daily maid service and staff quarters. Full- or part-time cooks and butlers are available for an extra charge.

The second villa, Villa Bahia, also features an infinity pool, a large living area, a full kitchen and daily maid service.

The villa has three air-conditioned bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths.

Puerto Mio's cliffside mansion, Casa de Mar, contains suites with private balconies.
The three new seaside suites, which, like the villas, are located on cliffs, each offer a bedroom with a king bed, a large living area, a wet bar, a private pool, a garden terrace and a bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower.

Each of the new villas and suites was designed by Mexican architect Enrique Zozaya, whose signature decorative elements include extensive use of woodwork and Mexican tiles and stones.

The villas and suites cost a total of $2 million to build.

Guests at the villas and suites have access to all of Puerto Mio's facilities and services, which include two restaurants and a bar; two swimming pools, and a private beach and marina. A full-service $1.2 million spa is scheduled to open in the spring.

Puerto Mio is within walking distance of the picturesque fishing village of Zihuatanejo and close to Ixtapa's golf courses, tennis courts, horseback riding and shopping.

Rates at Puerto Mio start at $225 a night, double, through Dec. 22 and from Jan. 6 to April 30. Seaside suites cost from $450 a day, double.

A seven-night honeymoon package starts at $2,300 per couple from Jan. 6 to April 30.

It includes one dinner for two, one room-service breakfast for two, a bottle of champagne and airport transfers.
