CLARKSDALE, Miss. -- The Delta Blues Museum here will be one of the
venues on the American Orient Express' rail tour of the Mississippi
The museum will be visited by passengers on the deluxe rail
service's Jazz & Blues Express tours this spring, in the
company of Grammy Award winning jazz musician Al Hirt.
Hirt will be the guest speaker, tracing the history of jazz and
blues as they evolved in the Mississippi Delta.
Hirt's credits include his June 1998 induction into the
International Jazz Hall of Fame and his Lifetime Achievement Award
from the Charlie "Bird" Parker Memorial Foundation.
The trip runs between New Orleans and Chicago, with other stops
in Memphis, Tenn., and St. Louis.
The four-day trip ranges in price from $1,990 to $3,890,
depending upon the accommodations selected.
