Regal creates family special

PALMETTO, Fla. -- Regal Cruises is inviting children ages 16 and younger to sail free on its New England-Canada sailings.

The offer applies to children who are accompanied by two adults in the same cabin.

Ten sailings will take place aboard the 900-passenger Regal Empress from June 25 to Sept. 9.

Fares range from $499 to $1,099 per person, double.

Triple and quadruple cabins start at $599 per person, double.

The Regal Empress.Port, service and handling fees for children are not included in the program, and the code KDF must be mentioned when booking.

The five-night cruise departs from New York, and its first port call is Newport, R.I.

The next stop on the itinerary is St. John, New Brunswick, where passengers can visit a farmers market and the New Brunswick Museum.

The ship will next head to Portland, Maine, then spend a full day at Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts before returning to New York.

Optional shore excursions include a tour of the Newport mansions; Ride the Rapids in St. John, which is a water ride in the Reversing Falls of the Bay of Fundy, and an escorted tour of Martha's Vineyard.

Recent enhancements to the Regal Empress include the addition of the Internet Computer Center and a full-size badminton court as well as improvements to the ship's decor.
