LAS VEGAS -- In the wake of opening a second tower hotel, the
Resort at Summerlin changed its name to the Regent Las Vegas.
"We've always had two hotel towers operated by Regent, but we
just decided to change the name to better align ourselves with the
brand," said a spokesman for the resort, located about 11 miles
northwest of the Strip and McCarran Airport.
One tower is a 286-unit with rooms and suites and is known as the
Spa. The other, opened earlier this year, has 255 units and is
called the Palms.
Regent describes itself as the city's first luxury golf and spa
resort off the Strip. The resort is situated on a plateau 1,000
feet above the Strip near the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation
