Resort to debut with dive packages

GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands -- Cobalt Coast Resort & Suites will open on Grand Cayman Nov. 3.

The 18-unit property, north of Seven Mile Beach near the Turtle Farm at North West Point, will be reminiscent in architectural style of a Caribbean great house.

The guest rooms and suites overlook the Caribbean.

Each unit will have cable television, a refrigerator, coffeemaker, in-room safe and direct-dial telephones with data ports.

The larger suites will have a separate living room, a sleeper sofa, wet bar and fully equipped kitchen.

"Cobalt Coast caters to those seeking an intimate location with service and personal attention," said Arie Barendrecht, the resort's developer and managing director.

Facilities will include a restaurant and bar; freshwater pool and Jacuzzi, and an on-site dive center, operated by Divetech, with its own boat dock.

Introductory commissionable rates from Nov. 3 to Dec. 19 start at $80 per room, per night, double, up to $205 for a two-bedroom suite.

Rates from Dec. 20 to April 15 range from $140 to $325, respectively.

A four-night dive package this fall, priced from $548 per diver, double, includes three days of boat diving, unlimited shore diving, daily breakfast and transfers.

Winter season four-night dive packages start at $663 per diver, double.
