Rez desk open for Mandalay tower

LAS VEGAS -- Reservations are being taken for THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, the new 1,122-suite hotel tower slated to open Dec. 15.

Room rates for THEhotel, which offers one- and two-bedroom suites, run $109 per night to $425 per night.

To book, agents can call (877) 632-7000.

The 43-story tower features a 60,000-square-foot lobby that connects via a grand promenade to the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino's gaming area, between the Mandalay Bay Theatre and the race and sports book.

Visitors to the new tower's lobby will find nine check-in desks, a separate VIP check-in area, two restaurant- and show-reservation desks, a bell desk, a business center, a lobby bar complete with a billiards lounge, a sundries shop, a 24-hour restaurant and a coffee bar.

The second floor features a 13,000-square-foot spa and gym. Floors three through six contain 80 business suites located adjacent to the tower's 5,000 square feet of conference and function space.

The suites have the same layout and design as the property's other one-bedroom suites -- 750 square feet of space that includes tile entry; separate sleeping and sitting areas; a plasma-screen TV; a wet bar; a desk with high-speed Internet connection, fax and printer; a marble- and granite-tiled bathroom with a separate tub and shower -- yet also enable business travelers to be located on the same floor as their business meeting.

The seventh through 38th floors encompass a total of 994 suites; floors 39 through 41 have 48 suites, ranging in size from 1,500 square feet to 2,600 square feet and offering more bedrooms and more space.

The tower's top floor includes a 220-seat restaurant and 200-seat lounge.
