Rick Springfield takes stage at MGM Grand

LAS VEGAS -- Singer and actor Rick Springfield assumed the starring role in MGM Grand Hotel and Casino's stage production "EFX."

Springfield took over the lead role Jan. 30 from Tommy Tune, who had starred in the show for two years.

More rock 'n' roll elements have been added to "EFX" to capitalize on Springfield's 30-year career as a musician and singer, according to resort officials.

Springfield, who has sold more than 18 million records and recorded 13 albums, has had 17 Top-20 singles, including "Jessie's Girl," "Don't Talk to Strangers" and "Affair of the Heart."

"EFX" is performed at 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Tickets are priced at $55 and $75 for adults and $40 for children ages 5 to 12. They can be purchased through MGM Grand Reservations at (800) 929-1111 or (702) 891-7777.
