Dallas -- Rosewood Hotels & Resorts was tapped to manage an upscale, 120-suite hotel in Mexico's Riviera Maya that will be part of a mixed-use resort development called Laguna Kai.

The entire Laguna Kai development will include the Rosewood-managed Laguna Kai resort, a spa, shops, and 70 privately owned villas priced from $500,000.

Approximately 30 of the resort's 120 rooms will be available for booking later this year, with the entire resort scheduled to open by fall 2005.

Laguna Kai is the first phase of a larger, 1,600-acre resort development called Mayakoba, which will include hotels and as many as three 18-hole golf courses, including one designed by golfer Greg Norman.
