Runaway's 'Kids Need Vacations' in play again

SAN FRANCISCO -- Runaway Tours renewed its five-night "Kids Need Vacations Too" program and rolled out a slate of new packages in conjunction with Starwood Hotels and Resorts.

"Kids Need Vacations Too" prices are land only, per adult (with two adults and up to two children staying under the family plan) and vary by dates of travel through Dec. 24. The program also includes a car rental.

Following is a summary of participating Maui properties:

• Outrigger Royal Kahana, starting at $464 with an upgrade to a one-bedroom oceanview room. A Kid's Island Explorer Pack is part of the package.

• Maui Prince Resort, starting at $638 for a partial oceanview room along with a $100 food and beverage credit per room.

• Four Seasons Resort Maui, starting at $986 for a gardenview room.

Agents can earn commissions on activities and specialty tours booked through Runaway, including seaplane and helicopter tours, meal cruises, snorkel cruises and land tours.

Runaway's Starwood packages include air fare from Los Angeles or San Francisco and roundtrip transfers for Oahu and a car rental for all other islands. Prices are per person, double.

Five-night stays at Oahu's Sheraton Princess Kaiulani begin at $967, with a $75 dining credit. The Sheraton Maui has rates that start at $1,132 per person, with daily breakfast for two. Kauai's Princeville Hotel package includes either buffet or full breakfast for $1,725 per person.

Four-night packages at Oahu's Sheraton Waikiki begin at $885 per person with a double room upgrade and a $75 dining credit; Maui's Kapalua Bay Hotel starts at $1,240 with daily breakfast for two; the Aston Shores at Waikoloa on the Big Island also includes daily breakfast for two, starting at $1,098 per person.
