SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom's order to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples may be a boon to the city's tourism industry.

Pan Pacific San Francisco, for one, is not about to be caught off guard for a boom it expects in demand for its Commitment Ceremony packages.

The hotel has offered the Commitment Ceremony packages to couples of the same gender before, but is preparing for a run on the product, now that the legal advantages of marriages are available to same sex couples in San Francisco.

The hotel makes a broad menu of services available, including comprehensive planning services, room blocks, rehearsal dinners, "morning after" brunches, wedding ceremonies, themed receptions, menu selection, specialty cakes, place settings, floral arrangements, wine and champagne.

For more information on the wedding packages, call (800) 533-6465; e-mail [email protected]; or visit www.panpacific.com.
