MIAMI -- Sandals and Beaches Resorts upgraded its Web sites, www.sandals.com
and www.beaches.com, which now boast multimedia features,
including panoramic resort tours, animated slideshows, streaming
video and image libraries.
Retailer-specific pages have been enhanced with real-time room
inventory access and co-branded Web-site creation tools.
Although consumers have been able to use the sites to book
online since December, information and brochure requests are
forwarded to local Certified Sandals Specialists. They can link
their agency sites to the Sandals and Beaches sites, too.
In another new wrinkle, the sites have new software to track and
access travel agent commissions and sales data.
In other Sandals news, Sandals renamed the Sandals St. Lucia
Golf Resort & Spa -- its first resort in St. Lucia -- the
Sandals Regency St. Lucia Golf Resort & Spa at La Toc.
To tout the new name, Sandals launched the Name Game promotion
for travel agents. The travel agent that correctly guesses the
total number of square feet for all 327 suites at the resort will
win a week's stay in an oceanfront plunge pool suite, including
roundtrip air from the nearest Air Jamaica gateway for two.
In addition, a suite at the property will be renamed in honor of
the winning agent.
Entry forms are available by calling (800) 48-SPECIAL; entries
must be submitted by Aug. 7. The winning agent will be announced at
Sandals Ultra Convention in Las Vegas Aug. 15.
