Service resumes at McCarran Airport

LAS VEGAS -- The Department of Transportation lifted the suspension of scheduled air service between McCarran Airport in Las Vegas and Reagan National Airport in Washington. The DOT implemented the ban after Sept. 11.

With the ban lifted, America West resumed daily nonstop roundtrip service on Feb. 27. National also flies the route.

Meanwhile, Japan Airlines, which said it would reinstate five nonstop weekly flights between Tokyo and Las Vegas in March, now will restore the flights on a more gradual basis.

JAL was set to return two flights March 1, a third April 1 and the remaining two July 15. The flights were suspended in October following a drop in demand.
