Sheraton Grand Resort to reopen May 1

NASSAU, Bahamas -- The grand reopening of the 340-room Sheraton Grand Resort Paradise Island is set for May 1.

The beachfront property has been closed since last Nov. 6, following damages after it was struck by Hurricane Michelle.

During the closure, two of the resort's four restaurants were upgraded; landscaping was redone; and new carpets and furniture were installed in the lobby, according to Alfred Gorlick, vice president and general manager.

Rates will start at $139 per night, double, through Dec. 21. In addition, the property will feature Grand Inclusive and Honeymoon packages.
