Site offers links to Oahu arts scene

HONOLULU -- Clients traveling to Oahu who are interested in the island's art museums and performing arts now can gather information on 11 cultural venues via the Internet, at www.artswithaloha.com.

The new Web site is a product of a committee called Arts With Aloha, which is made up of representatives from the organizations listed on the site.

The site has the address, hours, admission fees, telephone numbers and Web site links for each organization.

Earlier this year, Arts With Aloha came out with a printed brochure featuring the same information.

Featured on the site are the Honolulu Academy of Arts, the Contemporary Museum, the University of Hawaii Art Gallery, Diamond Head Theatre, Hawaii Opera Theatre, Hawaii Theatre Center, Honolulu Symphony, Bishop Museum, Hawaii Maritime Center, Iolani Palace and the Mission Houses Museum.

The 32-page printed brochure of Arts With Aloha members is available by writing to the Honolulu Academy of Arts, 900 S. Beretania St., Honolulu 96814.

Those who want the brochure must enclose, for each copy, a self-addressed, four-by-9.5-inch envelope with a 55-cent stamp.

Call the Arts With Aloha hot line at (808) 532-8713 for additional information.
