Southwest Airlines Vacations launches Albany-Vegas packages

LAS VEGAS -- Southwest Airlines Vacations introduced three-night Las Vegas packages, starting at $304, on departures from Albany Airport in New York, the carrier's newest gateway.

The introductory offer includes roundtrip air, hotel accommodations and taxes, Rapid Rewards flight credit and 24-hour traveler assistance. Ground transportation and entertainment options also are available.

The offer is valid for travel May 8 through June 29, when booked by May 30, according to an airline spokeswoman.

The offer could be extended, depending on availability, she said.

The least expensive package from Albany is for stays at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino.

Other participating hotels are Bally's Las Vegas, New York-New York, Monte Carlo Resort & Casino and Paris Las Vegas. The latter hotel has the most costly package at $399.

The Vegas packages are for Monday departures, Thursday returns. Rates are higher for other days of the week, special events and convention periods.

Packages must be booked no later than four business days prior to departure date. Airport taxes of up to $12 roundtrip are not included.

Southwest Airlines, the nation's fourth-largest carrier in terms of customers boarded, will serve 56 cities in 29 states with the addition of Albany.
