St. Kitts, Nevis to Remain One

CHARLESTOWN, St. Kitts and Nevis -- The dual-island nation of St. Kitts and Nevis will remain unified after a vote for secession was defeated on Nevis. Nevis' secession required 66% of the vote, but results showed only 62% were in favor. The island nation gained its independence from Britain in 1983.
