St. Regis Aspen enters final renovation phase

ASPEN, Colo. -- The St. Regis Aspen is set to undergo more work, as the luxury hotel will soon begin the final phase of a renovation.

This last project, set to begin Nov. 12 and end by Dec. 14, will revamp the ballroom, conference space and business and fitness centers.

For those with decorative curiosity, the St. Regis ballroom will soon have mirrored panels on the walls, and meeting rooms will be dressed up in, according to the hotel, "rich mountain colors."

The business center will add four workstations with computer access and a television that will provide financial news. Internet access via a high-speed line is free of charge.

An earlier phase of the renovation, completed last winter, redesigned the hotel's guest rooms and public spaces. The hotel has 257 rooms, including 33 suites, and is located on Aspen's East Dean Street.

The St. Regis Aspen was the second St. Regis in existence, following the original St. Regis New York. Starwood Hotels & Resorts, the White Plains, N.Y.-based owner of the luxuy brand, since has added other St. Regis hotels in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

The group now includes St. Regis hotels in New York, Aspen, Washington, Los Angeles, Houston, Rome and Beijing.
