Statue of Liberty to reopen Aug. 3

NEW YORK -- The Statue of Liberty, including the observation deck, will reopen to visitors Aug. 3.

Visitors will have a choice of two tours, both of which will include a visit to the Statue's original torch and a guided tour through the Statue of Liberty Museum.

The tours will be offered by timed reservations that can be made in advance or by walk up before boarding the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

Advance reservations can be made by phone beginning July 22 at (866) STATUE-4. Reservations via the park's Web site, www.nps.gov/stli, will be available in September.
