Stratosphere's Top of the World Earns Wine Spectator Distinction

LAS VEGAS -- The Stratosphere hotel, casino and entertainment complex's Top of the World restaurant was honored with a prestigious award from Wine Spectator magazine.

The venue received the publication's 1996 Award of Excellence, which recognizes restaurants for featuring one of the world's outstanding wine lists.

The rotating eatery, located at the 800-foot level of Stratosphere's 1,149-foot tower, serves dinner from 5 p.m. to 11 Sunday through Thursday and from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

The venue also features a 220-seat cocktail lounge.

In other Stratosphere news, the property launched a two-night package combining deluxe accommodations with tickets to the property's newly expanded celebrity impersonator show.

The package includes deluxe accommodations for two nights, two tickets to the American Superstars celebrity extravaganza, a two-for-one lunch at the property's buffet and two-for-one tickets to the top of the Stratosphere Tower.

Prices start at $98 per room for Sunday through Thursday stays.

The American Superstars stage show features impersonations of some of America's most popular entertainers, including Madonna, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Gloria Estefan and Charlie Daniels.
