NEW YORK -- The Swiss tourist board partnered with Vacation.com, its
official U.S. distributor, to launch a television campaign that
steers consumers to book with Switzerland specialists within the
consortium's 10,000 agent network.
Four half-hour "American Adventurer" programs, hosted by Laura
McKenzie and Erik Estrada, that focus on winter and summer travel
to the Alpine nation began airing in September and will run through
the end of 2002.
Two one-hour programs hosted by McKenzie also will be produced;
billboards highlighting dedicated toll-free Vacation.com phone
numbers end each episode.
Vacation.com estimated the programming will reach 30 million
U.S. homes, or 55% to 75% of national households.
Vacation.com members can contact membership services at (800)
843-0733 or log on to www.AgentNet.com to sign up as a Swiss specialist.
