Tamarack Resort set to open in December

DONNELLY, Idaho -- Tamarack Resort, an all-season destination resort, is slated to open Dec. 15, offering ski-in, ski-out accommodations as well as a number of year-round services.

The resort will feature 25 downhill runs served by five lifts, including two detachable quads, the Tamarack Express and Summit Express, which bring skiers to the 7,700-foot summit.

Along with a mix of beginner, intermediate and expert terrain, Tamarack offers freestyle enthusiasts a 500-foot super pipe and terrain park with a jib yard. Cross- and backcountry skiers can take advantage of the Nordic ski park as well as ski trails and groomed snowshoe trails.

For lodging, the chalets and cottages feature 64 ski-in, ski-out, privately owned homes, available for rent, offering concierge, recreation and catering services.

An 89,000-square-foot lodge in Tamarack Village is under construction and set for completion in December 2005. It will offer restaurants, a full-service spa and a childrens swimming pool.

The Discovery Square facility features a full-service ski and snowboarding school, equipment rentals, a childrens center and emergency medical services as well as three restaurants, an apres ski pub and a deli/market. Lift tickets are priced from $55 a day for adults; $28 for kids ages 7 to 17. Children age 6 and under ski and ride free.

Package prices start at $99 per person, per night, and include a daily Discovery Pass, offering access to downhill skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing and snowshoeing.

Commissionable packages are being developed in conjunction with a McCall, Idaho-based tour operator, InIdaho.com. In addition to winter sports, Tamarack Resort offers golf and water activities.
