Top execs leave Universal after realignment

Three top executives of the Universal Studios Escape destination resort in Orlando, Fla., left the company after a realignment of the sales and marketing unit.

The three executives whose posts were eliminated are Norm Merritt, executive vice president of sales and travel operations; John Stine, vice president of retail sales, and Kevin Kirby, vice president of convention sales.

Their duties were absorbed respectively by John Haugh, executive vice president of sales and marketing; Fred Lounsberry, executive vice president of marketing and operations, and Bryan Guillot, vice president of resorts and convention sales.

Ken Mills continues as senior vice president of advertising, while Don Gleason continues as president of the Universal Studios Vacations tour operation.
