Tourlite's 'Islands as You Like Them' Program Offers Options

SKIATHOS -- Tourlite International offers vacation packages to the Northern Sporades Islands in its new program, The Greek Isles as You Like Them.

This is one of five island groups -- Cyclades, Dodecanese, Ionian Saronic and Crete are the others -- featured, with 15 islands packaged for three-night stays and additional nights available on each island.

"We sell more island vacations than cruises," said Valerie Athans, Tourlite's vice president, "and we decided this year to expand our program to offer not only the widest range of island choices but to give travelers a chance to create their own island-hopping itineraries.

"Unlike a cruise, which gives a four-hour island sampling, we designed a planner that gives travelers at least four days to get caught up in each island's attractions and lifestyle."

Athans expects the program to be a one-stop source of information for agents booking island vacations. She said she feels agents and clients will be "pleasantly surprised" how reasonably priced island vacations can be.

She also said that the 15 islands were selected for their scenic beauty, historical interest, comfortable accommodations and ease in traveling from one to another.

Each program will start with a basic two-night Athens package, and one or more islands are added from there; a minimum stay of three nights is required on each island.

On all island packages, air and sea transportation is additional, and prices are indicated in the brochure for those costs.
