TradeWinds Resorts to manage Sirata Beach, its third property

ST. PETERSBURG BEACH -TradeWinds Resorts here will manage the 380-unit Sirata Beach Resort & Conference Center starting in January, bringing its fold to three properties -- all of them on St. Pete Beach and the gulf. The other two are the TradeWinds Resort and the Sandpiper Beach Resort.

As part of the agreement, all three hotels will be marketed under the TradeWinds flag. Further, TradeWinds will add Sirata to its centralized reservations system, and all group and leisure sales activities will be coordinated under the direction of TradeWinds.

The three properties combined occupy 35 acres and offer more than 1,100 rooms and in excess of 57,000 square feet of conference space.

Viewed as a single complex because of each hotel's proximity to the others, the entity is one of the largest in the state, said Tim Bogott, president and chief executive officer of Fortune Hotels, TradeWinds' parent.

Nicklaus of Florida Inc., which retained TradeWinds, will continue to own the Sirata Beach.
