SUPERCLUBS signed a management contract with Lionstone Hotels & Resorts to operate the 341-room Princess Beach Resort & Casino in Curacao as a SuperClubs Breezes resort. Breezes Curacao, currently closed for a $6 million renovation, reopens next winter as SuperClubs first resort in the Netherlands Antilles and the eighth Breezes resort in the Caribbean.

WESTIN RESORTS CARIBBEAN, with properties in Grand Cayman, Puerto Rico and St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, unveiled a new program that offers a guarantee against unpredictable Mother Nature. The Hurricane Guarantee allows guests whose vacations are interrupted or canceled by a storm to return to the resort within one calendar year free of charge for the same length of stay. The offer is valid through Dec. 31. Westin joins other hotel firms that offer similar guarantees, including Sandals and SuperClubs.

ANTIGUA'S CURTAIN BLUFF Resort celebrates its 40th anniversary by rolling back the room rate 40 years between Oct. 20 and Dec. 18. Guests who stay five nights at the regular room rate of $555 per night, double for a beachfront room and $725 for a junior suite receive the sixth night for $35, the original price of a room when Curtain Bluff opened in 1962. All rates, including the $35 anniversary rate, are inclusive.

CLUB MED AND AMERICAN AIRLINES joined forces to cut rates on air-land Caribbean packages. The offer is available on three- to seven-night packages at five Club Med Villages in the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Guadeloupe, the Dominican Republic and St. Lucia. Bookings must be made by Aug. 24 and travel completed by Dec. 14. Departures are available any day of the week from more than 250 cities across the U.S.

US AIRWAYS will beef up its Caribbean roster with four new gateways this fall. Daily nonstop service from Philadelphia to Barbados starts Nov. 3; daily nonstop service between New York's LaGuardia and Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, takes off Nov. 4; Dec. 8 is the launch of Saturday nonstop service between Philadelphia and Antigua; nonstop flights on Saturday and Sunday between Philadelphia and St. Lucia start Dec. 15. Weekend flights between Charlotte, N.C., and Cozumel begin Jan. 12.
