THE BRAZILIAN COURT, in Palm Beach, launched two promotions for short-term business. It now pays a 20% commission on stays completed by Jan. 15, and the third night is free when two are paid. The latter also applies to stays completed by Jan. 15. For information, call (800) 552-0335.

A $43 MILLION renovation, including the addition of a 24,000-square-foot Balinese health spa, was launched by the Marco Island (Fla.) Marriott Resort. The redesign of two restaurants, the 18-hole golf course and guest rooms are other components, along with creation of a 10,000-square-foot ballroom overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. April 2003 is the scheduled completion date for the whole project, but some components will be completed earlier, such as the ballroom, which is to become available around February 2003.

ALSO RENOVATING was the Radisson Resort Parkway, Orlando, which spent $15 million on its 718 units and public areas, including a new atrium, tropical gardens and a free-form rock waterfall in the lobby. Service and accommodations meet, and in most cases exceed, the Americans With Disabilities Act guidelines, according to C. Patricia Orr, director of sales and marketing.

BRAGGING RIGHTS: The Breakers Palm Beach and its flagship restaurant, L'Escalier, both earned the top Five Diamond Award for 2002 from AAA. For the property, it was the sixth consecutive year for Five Diamond recognition.

HOTEL DEAL: Rosen Hotels & Resorts, Orlando, introduced a $29.95 nightly room rate at four of its hotels for semi-suites. Coupled with this offer, aimed at families, is the distribution to guests of the Orlan-Dough Value Pack containing more than $2,000 in savings, including theme park discounts. Both the $29.95 rate and coupon deal expire Jan. 31. The rate applies to the Quality Inn International, Rodeway Inn and Quality Inn Plaza, all on Orlando's International Drive, and the Comfort Inn, Lake Buena Vista.
