UNITED AIRLINES started a second daily flight June 7 from San Francisco to Kona on the Big Island using a 757 aircraft.

THE DOLE PLANTATION on Oahu will unveil a new 20-minute train ride attraction in October called the Pineapple Express. The 2.2-mile ride will cost $7.50 for adults and $5.50 for children and includes a tour of the plantation grounds with information on the life of James Dole and the legacy of the pineapple and agriculture in Hawaii.
