US AIRWAYS will expand its service to Mexico
beginning this fall by adding new routes and boosting frequencies.
US Airways' Mexico expansion is set to begin Oct. 26 when the
airline begins daily roundtrip service between its hub in Charlotte
and Mexico City. The service will be operated aboard an A319 with
room for 120 passengers. Flights will depart Charlotte at 10:15
a.m. and arrive in Mexico City at 1:26 p.m; return flights will
depart Mexico City at 2:26 p.m. and arrive in Charlotte at 6:45
p.m. Meanwhile, US Airways plans to increase its Boston-Cancun
service to five flights a week Feb. 14, with one roundtrip flight
on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and two roundtrip flights on
Saturdays. US Airways currently operates one roundtrip flight on
FUNJET VACATIONS extended to July 31 the
booking deadline for its Fly Free This Fall promotion. Under the
promotion, Funjet is offering discounts for groups of 11 to 19
people to Cancun. Groups can choose between a $200 discount on one
air/hotel reservation or one free airline ticket. This offer is
valid on select St. Louis and Kansas City departures. Sample
vacations include roundtrip air, hotel accommodations, roundtrip
airport transfers and hotel taxes. From St. Louis three- and
seven-night packages are available from Aug. 16 to Nov. 15 and Nov.
29 to Dec. 13. From Kansas City seven-night packages are available
from Oct. 4 to Nov. 15 and Nov. 29 to Dec. 6. Travel agents can

IN OTHER FUNJET NEWS, the operator launched
Code Fun, which offers discounted roundtrip charter fares to the
U.S. military. The deal offers travel to Mexico for $100 through
Dec. 15. Fares, which include fuel surcharges but not fees and
taxes, are per person for military personnel and one companion and
are not commissionable, although Funjet will pay commission on
hotel stays and car rentals.
PLEASANT HOLIDAYS added the El Cid La Ceiba
Cozumel to its Mexico product line in 2004. El Cid La Ceiba Cozumel
is located on the beach near San Miguel. The property offers two
restaurants, tennis courts, a spa and fitness center, a dive shop
and a private beach club. Five-night, land-only packages start at
$313 per person, double; children 14 and younger stay free in their
parents' room. Prices include roundtrip airport transfers and all
hotel taxes and surcharges. Meanwhile, Pleasant Holidays and the
Villa del Palmar resort in Puerto Vallarta are offering a fourth
night free to guests who travel through Oct. 31, and the sixth and
seventh nights free to guests who travel through Dec. 20.

ARC said it is suspending its agreement with
Aerolineas Internacionales, which serves destinations in Mexico,
following completion of the processing of sales for the period
ending July 13. ARC said transactions submitted with agents' July
20 sales reports and beyond will be returned unprocessed. Agents
will have to then send sales reports directly to the carrier at
