FAIRMONT HOTELS & RESORTS said its Fairmont Pierre Marques Golf Club in Acapulco closed March 10 to undergo a $3 million renovation that will be supervised by golf course designer Robert Trent Jones Jr. The course is scheduled to reopen in December. As part of the renovation, the golf course will install a new species of grass -- Seashore Paspalum -- that is better suited to Acapulco's tropical conditions. The golf course will also raise and reshape the fairways to improve playability and drainage, and install a practice facility for guests. The golf course is adjacent to the 14-story Fairmont Acapulco Princess. For more information about the golf course or Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, visit www.fairmont.com.
