Two Aruba resorts get new look

ORANJESTAD, Aruba -- Two of this island's popular inclusive properties -- the Tamarijn Aruba Beach Resort and the Divi Aruba Beach Resort -- spruced up their facilities.

The Tamarijn Aruba Beach Resort. The Tamarijn introduced a "deluxe oceanfront" room category, the result of a top-to-bottom refurbishment of 84 beachside units. The new category features remodeled rooms sporting a fresh coat of paint, new vanities and tiles, and central air conditioning and ceiling fans operated by remote control.

The Tamarijn's Paparazzi Italian restaurant was relocated to a new air-conditioned indoor space decorated with mosaics of Italian landscapes and Romanesque stone statues. Rounding out the changes, the Palm Court restaurant was relocated to a new outdoor spot adjacent to the Cunucu Terrace, where guests can dine al fresco.

The Divi Aruba redecorated its beachside Pelican restaurant with "market-style" decor including white table umbrellas, new floor tiles, vine-covered wood pillars and terra-cotta marble walls. The restaurant also was expanded to accommodate indoor and outdoor dining overlooking the water. The hotel's Red Parrot restaurant was reconfigured to include indoor and outdoor dining.

The Tamarijn Aruba and the Divi Aruba are two of Aruba's more popular inclusive resorts. The Tamarijn offers 236 air-conditioned rooms and the Divi features 203. Guests of either resort are entitled to use the facilities of the other.
