WASHINGTON -- The State Department updated a travel warning for
Yemen following the kidnapping of another U.S. citizen in January.
Separately, the department advised U.S. travelers to Tanzania
that violent political demonstrations could occur on the islands of
Zanzibar and Pemba at least until October elections.
It also advised U.S. travelers to Laos to avoid the Muang Khoune
and Paxai districts in Xiangkhoang province, owing to "the risk of
ambush by insurgents or bandits."
