UnderWater World Adds Variety to Tour of Mall

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Need more proof that the Mall of America here is more than just a place to shop?

Visit UnderWater World, an interactive, multisensory, education-based aquarium and marine science center.

Visitors begin their UnderWater World journey in the thick of a boundary waters forest.

From there, they can proceed to see more than 40 species of animal life native to the Minnesota lakes, the Mississippi River, the Gulf of Mexico and a Caribbean coral reef.

The two-level facility is approximately 70,000 square feet, with a 1.2 million gallon tank and acrylic tunnels nearly 300 feet long.

Hours are Mondays to Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Fridays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Admission prices are $8.95 for adults, $4.95 for children ages 3 to 12 and $6.95 for seniors.
