V.com defers fees, charges for agents affected by Katrina

NEW YORK -- Aiming to help member agents affected by Hurricane Katrina, Vacation.com deferred billing for membership dues, technology fees and other charges for agencies with ZIP codes in areas that sustained heavy damage.

On behalf of myself and the Vacation.com family of employees, I want to express our concern for the victims of Hurricane Katrina who are attempting to recover from this horrific tragedy, said Dick Knodt, president and CEO of Vacation.com.

We would like to reach out to those Vacation.com travel agency partners located in the Gulf States who have been affected by the storm and who now rely on outside resources and generosity in an effort to rebuild, homes, lives and businesses, added Knodt.

Member agents in the affected regions are encouraged to contact Vacation.coms Membership Services Dept. at (800) 843-0733 to discuss ways in which the organization can be of assistance.

Agencies should also provide a temporary address where Vacation.com can forward payments such as CruiseCentre commissions and other agency incentives.
