Vacation Express to launch Baltimore-Cancun charter service

ATLANTA -- Vacation Express will introduce Cancun charter service from Baltimore beginning Nov. 18.

The year-round service will consist of five weekly round-trip flights departing Baltimore/Washington International Thursdays through Mondays. The direct flights will stop in either Washington (Dulles) or Charlotte, N.C.

The flights will be operated by Allegro Air from Nov. 18 through Dec. 20 and by Falcon Air Express beginning Dec. 23 and throughout 2000. Both carriers will use 165-passenger B-727-200 aircraft on the route.

Three- to seven-night Cancun packages will be available from Baltimore. Rates will start at $379 per person, double, for a three-night program, including roundtrip air fare, accommodations at the Cancun Clipper Club, airport transfers and hotel taxes. Packages with stays at inclusive resorts also are available, with prices starting at $499 per person, double, at Club Las Perlas.

Vacation Express is boosting charter service to Cancun, Mexico's top beach resort. With the new Baltimore gateway, Vacation Express now offers charter programs to Cancun from 10 U.S. cities. The other gateways include Atlanta; Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham, N.C.; Cincinnati; Indianapolis; Louisville, Ky.; Memphis and Nashville, and Washington (Dulles).

In other news, the company will augment its one-stop charter service from Washington to Cancun with the launch of nonstop flights starting Nov. 19. The new flights will depart on Fridays and Mondays, and three-, four- and seven-night packages will be available.

Three-night package rates will start at $399 per person, double, with accommodations at Club Verano Beat. Allegro Air and Falcon Air Express will use B-727-200 aircraft on the route.

In addition to Cancun, Vacation Express serves the Mexico destinations of Acapulco, Cozumel, Ixtapa and the Riviera Maya region, south of Cancun.
