HONOLULU -- After searching for a new chief for six months, the
Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau named Tony Vericella
president and chief executive officer. Vericella, Budget's vice
president and general manager for Asia/Pacific, based here, will
join the bureau Oct. 15.
Roy Tokujo, HVCB board chairman and chief executive officer of
Cove Marketing, said Vericella has "a complete understanding of how
the HVCB works, where it has been and where it has to go."
Vericella, 44, was HVCB board chairman for two years, from July 1,
1995 until this June. He succeeds Paul Casey, who headed the bureau
from June 1995 to March this year.
