Victoria Cruises offers agent rate on China trips

NEW YORK -- Victoria Cruises introduced a special travel agent/companion rate of $280 per person for winter sailings on its new China itinerary, Chongqing to Yichang, aboard the Victoria Prince.

This promotional rate is available on standard cabins only, and at least one travel agent must be staying in the cabin in order for the rate to apply.

There is an $100 charge for single supplements.

The Victoria Prince was acquired by the line this spring and has been completely refurbished.

Departures for the four-day, downstream Chongqing to Yichang sailings are Thursdays between Nov. 29 and March 14.

Five-day, upstream voyages depart Sundays between Nov. 25 and March 17.

All shore excursions, which present a more intimate look at life on the Yangtze River, are available for an additional $60 per person.

Preboarding also can be arranged for an extra $30 per person.

Chongqing is a major hub in the western Yangtze region; Yichang is an economic and political center situated at the entrance of Xiling Gorge, one of China's Three Gorges, along with the Qutang and Wu.

Among other highlights are shore excursions to the Lesser Three Gorges, with visits to either the Shennong Stream Gorge or the Daning River; the Three Gorges Dam Site, the world's largest construction project; Fengdu, nicknamed the "Ghost City," and Wanxian, a city renowned for its fine silk.
