Video Designed to Familiarize Clients With State

SAN FRANCISCO -- World Explorer Cruises is offering agents a new video, "The Uncommon Route," designed to give their clients a sense of what Alaska is all about.

The 31-minute video, tracing the route taken by the company's Universe Explorer in its 14-day cruise, focuses on the natural beauty of Alaska and on the ship's onboard lecturers and its shore excursions.

Footage of World Explorer passengers at play on the White Pass & Yukon Railroad, gold-panning in Juneau and white-water rafting near Valdez are among the highlights.

Other features include flightseeing over the ice fields, bald eagles, humpback whales' songs and a glimpse into the lives and cultures of the Tlingit and other Indian people who inhabit the state.

The Universe Explorer calls at more ports and spends more time in each than any other ship, hence the name, "The Uncommon Route."

The rates start at $2,095 per person, double.

The season starts with the departure from Vancouver, British Columbia, on May 20.

For information about the video, call (800) 854-3835.
