TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Destination marketing plans for Florida will
be high on the agenda at the 33rd annual Florida Governor's
Conference on Tourism.
The meeting will be held Aug. 6 to 8 at the Doral Golf Resort
and Spa in Miami.
In a presentation during the opening general session on Aug. 7,
Bud Nocera, executive vice president and chief operating officer of
Visit Florida, will speak on plans to reallocate some of Visit
Florida's resources to further enhance the state's Internet
presence in light of a decrease in requests for printed matter,
according to a spokesman.

Joining Nocera will be New York-based travel guide author Arthur
Frommer, who will discuss trends in travel.
Dale Brill, president of Media Innovation Development,
Tallahassee, will discuss what's hot in e-commerce travel.
Breakout sessions will include one presented on trade shows by
Carol Wilkie, senior editor of Exhibitor Magazine, St. Paul,
Dealing with disasters will be discussed by a panel composed of
Craig Fugate, bureau chief of preparedness and response for the
Office of Emergency Management of the Florida Department of
Community Affairs, and Dan Dipiazza, a public relations consultant
for Busch Entertainment, Alton, Ill.
Tom Flanigan, Visit Florida's communications director,
Tallahassee, will be the moderator.
Also planned is a motivational message delivered by Floyd Hurt,
president of the Rousing Creativity Group, Charlottesville, Va.,
while low-cost publicity strategies will be discussed by Linda
Caldwell, executive director of the Tennessee Overhill Heritage
Association, Etowah, Tenn.
On Aug. 8, delegates will learn what the leisure travel market
will be like in 2015 from Graham Molito, president of Public Policy
Forecasting and vice president of the World Future Society,
Finally, a session on how to build brand awareness will be
presented by Kare Anderson, president of Compelling Communications
Group, Sausalito, Calif.
