Visit Florida exec to address state tourism conference

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Destination marketing plans for Florida will be high on the agenda at the 33rd annual Florida Governor's Conference on Tourism.

The meeting will be held Aug. 6 to 8 at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami.

In a presentation during the opening general session on Aug. 7, Bud Nocera, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Visit Florida, will speak on plans to reallocate some of Visit Florida's resources to further enhance the state's Internet presence in light of a decrease in requests for printed matter, according to a spokesman.

Joining Nocera will be New York-based travel guide author Arthur Frommer, who will discuss trends in travel.

Dale Brill, president of Media Innovation Development, Tallahassee, will discuss what's hot in e-commerce travel.

Dealing with disasters will be discussed by a panel composed of Craig Fugate, bureau chief of preparedness and response for the Office of Emergency Management of the Florida Department of Community Affairs, and Dan Dipiazza, a public relations consultant for Busch Entertainment, Alton, Ill.
