Viva cuts summer rates at Mexico resorts

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic -- Viva Resorts reduced the nightly inclusive rates at its three Mexico resorts by up to $50 per couple during July and August. With the promotion, rates begin at $160 (down from $190) a night per couple at the Viva Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta; $190 (down from $236) at the Viva Maya in Playa del Carmen; and $200 (down from $250) at the Viva Azteca in Playa del Carmen.

Meanwhile, travel agents who book any of Viva's six all-inclusive resorts from Sept. 1 to Dec. 23 will receive 15% commission. The remaining properties are in the Bahamas and Dominican Republic.

In addition, clients who book a stay at any of the six properties through an agent for travel Sept. 1 to Dec. 23 will receive 5% off the rack rates.

Also, agents who sell Viva's add-on wedding package will receive a 15% commission on the price of the package, and the clients will get 5% off the cost of the package. The commissions on the wedding package will be offered for travel July 1 to Dec. 23.
