MEXICO CITY -- Tying the knot in Mexico can be as easy as booking a package, as many of Mexico's resorts and tour operators offer coordinators to handle almost every detail of planning the ceremony.

And for newlyweds looking for a honeymoon destination, the same resorts offer honeymoon packages.

The following is a sampling of resorts and operators that offer honeymoon and destination wedding packages, all commissionable at 10%:

Aeromexico Vacations launched a Grand Wedding program in conjunction with Occidental Hotels & Resorts.

The package offers complete wedding arrangements -- including wedding coordinator, ceremony, judge and marriage license -- as well as honeymoon stays for couples traveling to Cancun and checking in to Occidental's Grand Xcaret, Allegro Playacar or Caribbean Village resorts.

Prices begin at $539 per person, double, including roundtrip air fare from Atlanta on Aeromexico, three nights' hotel accommodations, all meals and snacks, taxes and gratuities.

The promotion will be in effect for travel through Sept. 1 and must be booked by April 1.

Aeromexico Vacations can be purchased in the major GDSs or through VAX VacationAccess at www.vaxvacationaccess.com. Agents also can call (800) 245-8585.

• At the Grand Cozumel by Occidental, couples can wed under water.

Those looking to "take the plunge" into marriage might want to consider having their wedding ceremony at Occidental Hotels & Resorts' newest property, the 252-room Grand Cozumel by Occidental.

The resort created the Grand Underwater Wedding package, enabling couples to marry wearing scuba gear and using cue cards to exchange vows.

The undersea wedding ceremony costs $2,800 a couple, including the services of a wedding coordinator; a two-tank boat dive for up to four people; a private dinner for four guests or dinner reservations for up to 40 guests; the bridal bouquet; and wedding documents.

Inclusive rates start at $149 a night, per person. Group rates are available for destination weddings occupying 10 rooms or more.
