MIAMI BEACH -- The Westin Resort Miami Beach (the former Doral
Beach) introduced two packages, one of them for certified
The Dive and Dream package is priced at $776 per couple through
April 30 and $658 from May 1 to Sept. 30.
It includes a room, two dives per day, per person (certified
divers only), with equipment provided by the hotel, a buffet
breakfast and admission to the athletic club.
The diving site is an artificial reef off the hotel's beach,
where barracuda, snook and dolphin can be found.
The Miami Beach Break-
away is a one-night plan costing $99 a night, single; $198,
double, May 1 to Sept. 30.
The package covers a waterview room, a buffet breakfast,
turndown service and valet parking.
Agents earn 10% of the room portion of each package.
In other news, Michael Tierney was named general manager, and
Karen Hendriksen-Smith was appointed director of group sales.
Tierney came from a similar post at Marriott's Casa Marina and
Reach Resorts, both in Key West.
Hendriksen-Smith most recently was director of group sales for
the Fort Lauderdale Marriott North.
The 420-room Westin, which is undergoing a major renovation, has
a business center and 40,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit
space. There is a marina for guests arriving by yacht.
