In other news, Innisbrook opened its $3.4 million, three-acre
Loch Ness Pool and Spa as part of a $50 million renovation, which
is continuing. The pool area features two water slides, a 15-foot
waterfall and a whirlpool seating 36.
The renovation also calls for a new reception center and
clubhouse, which will house registration, a lobby bar, a new dining
room, specialty shops, a grocery and the golf shop for the new
Eagle's Watch and Hawk's Run courses.
A new health club and spa are planned as well. All of these
facilities will be completed in early 2000. Although the Westin
Innisbrook has three conference halls with a total of 65,000 square
feet of meeting space, a hotel spokeswoman said the property is
striving to expand its image beyond the conventions market.
