Westin to add ninth property

SEATTLE -- Westin Hotels & Resorts will add a ninth hotel in Mexico to its roster.

The firm inked a franchise agreement with Hoteles Real de Chihuahua to represent a property in the city of Chihuahua, a commercial center and tourist destination in northern Mexico.

The Westin Soberano Chihuahua, scheduled to convert Feb. 1, is a 15-minute drive from the heart of the city. The property features 204 guest rooms, each with amenities such as work areas, dual-line telephones with data port, refreshment centers, cable television and hairdryers.

Facilities at the property include a fitness center, a salon, tennis courts, an outdoor pool and a boutique. Meeting rooms for groups of up to 1,400 people are available.

The hotel has two bars and two restaurants, one of which is a gourmet venue featuring views of the city.

Westin Soberano Chihuahua offers the firm's Guest Office accommodations option, which features guest rooms that double as offices.

Guest Office accommodations are priced at an extra $20 per night. Features are a laser printer, fax and copier; a dual-line speaker phone with data port; Mac- and IBM-compatible computer printer cable and surge protector; an ergonomically designed desk chair; newspaper delivery and local phone calls.

Westin's other Mexico properties are in Acapulco, Cancun, Ixtapa, Los Cabos, Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta and San Luis Potosi.
