Here are some tidbits from the Far East:

The Pan Pacific Bangkok and the Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur are offering meetings packages through Dec. 31.

At the 235-room Pan Pacific Bangkok, a half-day package costs from $110 per person.

It includes a one-night stay, breakfast, use of a meeting room for four hours, coffee or tea break with snacks, lunch and a daily newspaper.

A full-day package costs $115 per person and covers all of the same features as well

as use of a meeting room from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pre- and post-stay packages cost $100 per guest, single, or $110, double, with breakfast.

At the 55-room Pan Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur, a half-day meeting package costs $74 per person. It includes a one-night stay, breakfast, free use of a meeting room for four hours, coffee break with snacks and lunch.

A full-day package costs $79 per person. It includes the same elements in addition to the use of a meeting room from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A pre- or post-stay package costs $60 per person, single or double.

China Southern Airlines launched nonstop service on Thursdays from its hub in Guangzhou to Fukuoka, Japan.

The service marks the first nonstop flights between the two cities in nearly 20 years.

The airline will operate the flight aboard an Airbus A320 aircraft.

The flight will depart Guangzhou at 8:45 a.m. and arrive at 12:30 p.m. in Fukuoka. The return flight will arrive in Guangzhou at 3:30 p.m.

In other news, the carrier opened seven Sky Pearl Club Service Centers in major

airport locations throughout China.

The centers were opened at the Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou, China Southern's home airport, as well as in airports in Beijing, Wuhan, Changsha, Haikou, Zhengzhou and Shenzhen.

Century International Hotels is offering up to 12,000 Asia Miles frequent flyer points when guests stay a minimum of 30 nights at select properties in Hong Kong and China.
