Wind Surf Itinerary Combines Past With Present

ABOARD THE WIND SURF -- Sailing roundtrip from Nice, France, the Wind Surf's current itinerary includes:
  • Portofino, Italy--a picturesque seaport just south of Genoa. Excursions included a tour of the town and a private boat ride to the village of San Fruttuoso, known for its 10th century abbey.
  • Portoferraio, Italy. The port is located on Elba Island, noted for being the location of Napoleon's 10-month exile. The lush, hilly island serves as a top vacation spot for Italians.
  • Portovenere, Italy. Excursions were offered to Pisa, about one-and-a-half hours away, and to Florence, about two-and-a-half hours away. At Pisa, a group tour was included in the excursion, but clients were on their own in Florence.
  • Monte Carlo. Several coach tours were offered, and tenders ran continuously to the casinos.
  • Cannes, France. This cosmopolitan port is filled with cafes, shops and hotels. Coach excursions were offered to Gorges du Loup canyon, the village of Gourdon and the walled village of St. Paul-de-Vence.
  • St.-Tropez, France. This is a hilly seaside resort with narrow cobblestone streets and a 12th century church. Excursions were offered to Grimaud Village and to Gassin.
