Wynn resort upgrades rooms with digital equipment

LAS VEGAS -- When the Wynn Las Vegas resort opens on the Strip in April 2005, its 2,698 guest rooms will feature cutting-edge digital entertainment equipment, thanks to an agreement between Wynn Resorts and Gateway.

The deal calls for Gateway to supply the resort with 7,000 customized, Gateway-branded plasma and LCD televisions as well as hundreds of DVD players and other products.

Standard guest rooms will each have a 30-inch LCD TV on a swinging arm in the living room and a 13-inch LCD TV mounted on the bathroom wall.

Certain suites will offer 50-inch plasma screens in the living room as well as LCD TVs in "his" and "her's" bathrooms and DVD players in the wet bar area.

In addition, the agreement calls for Gateway to supply more than 200 digital TVs to the property's high-traffic common areas. Wynn Resorts plans to use Gateway LCD and plasma TVs for messaging and program broadcasting in the resort's casino, restaurants, sports book and poolside cabanas.

Gateway also intends to make all of its products featured throughout the property available for purchase at the resort.

Constructed on approximately 192 acres at the former site of the Desert Inn, the 45-story, $2 billion resort will feature a 3-acre swimming pool and spa complex, 18 restaurants, a 120,000-square-foot casino, a full-service Ferrari Maserati dealership and the only 18-hole golf course on the Strip.
