Yacht sinks off Galapagos Island

QUITO, Ecuador -- The 10-passenger yacht Resting Cloud hit a rocky shoal in the Galapagos Islands, caught fire and sank off Santa Fe Island.

The passengers, a U.S. family sailing under charter, were ferried safely to land.

The motorsailer Resting Cloud was one of the deluxe small-yacht fleet of Quasar Nautica, whose vessels include the Sandpiper, Nortada, Lammer Law, Mistral and the new 48-passenger Eclipse.

Quasar Nautica is represented by in the U.S. by Miami-based Tumbaco Inc.
