Here and there across the economic landscape, we've been seeing little signs of an economic recovery: a small decline in the unemployment rate here, a bit of an increase in housing prices there.

To this list we can now add an uptick in air travel sales settled through ARC.

As we report in the news pages today, November's settlements increased 6.7% over the same dismal month of 2008, after 13 consecutive months of declines.

It's too soon to call this a turnaround, but it's not too soon to call it an encouraging sign, or maybe even an indication that we've hit bottom. In this context, hitting bottom would be OK, because what usually happens next is the long climb back up, and we are so ready for that to begin.
